CODA and the Motion Picture Association Motion Picture Association (MPA) in the United States have agreed to renew the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), originally signed on March 20, 2014 and extended to 2026. The MOU is designed to develop new good practices and strengthen joint copyright protection efforts in response to the current worldwide online copyright infringement problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signing ceremony was held on April 4, 2024 at MPA headquarters in Washington, DC, USA. This is the fifth renewal since the conclusion of the MOU, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the MOU between CODA and MPA.

CODA and MPA initiated cooperative efforts for physical pirate countermeasures in Asia in 2005, followed by a strong partnership through the signing of a 10-year MOU starting in 2014. Joint enforcement efforts by CODA and MPA against physical piracy have been highly successful, with many anti-piracy operations and tens of thousands of crackdowns in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CODA will continue to engage in communication and discussion with MPA on anti-piracy measures and implement effective measures to protect intellectual property rights.
