On December 8, 2022, five representatives from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), including Mr. Anom Wibowo, S.I.K., M.Si (Directorate of Investigation and Dispute Settlement), visited CODA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DGIP operates under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia and oversees a broad range of intellectual property rights, including copyrights, design rights, layout-designs of integrated circuits, trade secrets, patents, and trademark rights. DGIP also houses an investigation bureau that handles responses to intellectual property infringements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meeting was led by Mr. Tomohiro Nishiyama, who was dispatched as a Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) expert to DGIP. The main purpose was to share information regarding online infringement, particularly piracy, which has been expanding on the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From CODA, the meeting was attended by CODA Representative Director Takero Goto, Director of Overseas Copyright Protection Masaharu Ina, and Director of International Affairs Tatsuya Otsuka. During the meeting, Director Ina and Director Otsuka gave presentations on CODA’s activities, focusing especially on measures against online infringements. The discussion was active, with a lively exchange of questions and answers, resulting in a highly effective information-sharing session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
