The “Tokyo Education Show 2024” took place on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, at the Koganei Campus of Tokyo Gakugei University, showcasing innovative educational practices. CODA participated by exhibiting programs such as the “Digital Etiquette for Teens” initiative, part of its educational activities.
On October 12, a public class was held during the “New Open Research Meeting,” featuring inspiring teachers and educational creators from across Japan. Akitonton, an education-focused YouTuber, led the session using the “Digital Etiquette for Teens” as teaching material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Tokyo Education Show” began in 2023 as a collaborative research project between the NPO Kyoiku no Kan (Education Circle) and Tokyo Gakugei University. Under the theme “Education is Fun! And Cool!” the event aims to highlight the appeal of education. This year many visitors attended both onsite and online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At CODA\u2019s booth, two key initiatives were featured: the “Digital Etiquette for Teens” program, launched in 2023 to promote legitimate content distribution and deepen youth understanding of copyright issues, and the web radio program “Welcome to the study club for Content and Creators!”<\/em> Educators, students, and families visited the booth, showing keen interest in copyright issues and the importance of digital etiquette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 12th, a public class led by educational content creator Akitonton, utilizing the “Digital Etiquette for Teens” program as teaching material, was held with participation from high school students and university students aspiring to become teachers.
The class started with a quiz introducing basic concepts like \u201cWhat is copyright?\u201d and \u201cWhat is a copyrighted work?\u201d It was followed by group work exploring different perspectives. Participants analyzed the case of a student posting a \u201cfast movie\u201d online out of fan enthusiasm, and how it impacted filmmaker Tom, whose revenue loss prevented a sequel from being produced.
Participants shared their thoughts at the end of the session: \u201cI enjoyed learning that understanding copyright is essential for using content on YouTube or social media,\u201d and \u201cI realized copyright rules vary, and it’s important to follow platform guidelines carefully.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Tokyo Education Show 2024” brought together various stakeholders to co-create the future of education. The event featured a range of innovative educational practices and interactive content, offering a dynamic space to explore modern education.
