From December 20, 2024, over the course of three days, the “2024 International Content IP Industry Development Conference – IP Plus” was held in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai, China. At the invitation of the organizing committee, CODA Representative Director, Takero Goto, delivered the keynote speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event was co-hosted by the Shanghai International Resort Management Committee, the Pudong New Area Bureau of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Pudong New Area Intellectual Property Bureau, and the Shanghai Copyright Association. Under the theme “The Power of IP \u2013 Innovation and Development of Content IP,” the event aimed to further advance the rapidly growing content IP industry in both China and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by approximately 500 guests over three days, including representatives from the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC), the Chinese government, major Chinese IT and digital companies, and many other stakeholders. Additionally, numerous members of the media, including newspapers, television stations, and online platforms, gathered, making the event a resounding success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening ceremony on December 20, welcoming addresses were delivered by officials such as Mr. Tang ZhaoZhi, Deputy Director General of the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC). This was followed by the announcement of the 2024 Content IP Market Development Index and a report on the content IP industry. The event also featured an award ceremony recognizing works that contributed to the development of the IP industry, including the 2024 Original IP Awards, creating a lively and celebratory atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CODA Representative Director, Takero Goto, delivered the keynote speech at the conference held on December 21. Titled “The Current State and Future Prospects of the IP Business in Japan,” his presentation highlighted the recent rapid growth of the content IP market in Japan and globally, driven by rising popularity. He also addressed the accompanying piracy issues, introducing specific recent examples of anti-piracy measures, particularly CODA’s International Enforcement Project (CBEP). Takero Goto emphasized the importance of international collaboration and cooperation in addressing these challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also featured diverse exhibitions showcasing the vibrancy and potential of China\u2019s content IP industry. It provided a strong impression of the industry\u2019s vitality and created opportunities for enhanced collaboration among participants, companies, and nations.
This activity was part of a project entrusted from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
