On September 23, 2025, CODA visited the Copyright Society of China (CSC) in Beijing and held an exchange meeting on strengthening collaboration for intellectual property protection between Japan and China. The meeting was attended by Mr. Du Xian, Vice-Chairman and Secretary General of the CSC, Mr. Sun Yue, Vice-Chairman of the CSC, and others. From CODA, participants included Takero Goto, Representative Director, and Zhu Genquan, Chief Representative of the Beijing Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSC, established in March 1990 under the supervision of the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC), is a nationwide organization specializing in the field of copyright in China. Since 2010, CODA and the CSC have co-hosted numerous training seminars and awareness-raising events on intellectual property protection, fostering mutual understanding and supporting the healthy development of the content industries in both Japan and China. Furthermore, in 2023, CODA and the CSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Strategic Partnership on Content between Japan and China, with the aim of promoting the distribution of legitimate content and strengthening copyright protection in both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the exchange meeting, the two sides discussed specific measures to further advance the implementation of the MOU, as well as upcoming activities such as the jointly organized seminar scheduled for next month and the planned visit to Japan by a CSC delegation. A wide range of opinions were exchanged on future cooperation and exchange in the field of intellectual property rights. This meeting provided an important opportunity to further deepen the cooperative relationship between the two parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity was carried out as part of a project commissioned by Japan\u2019s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
