On September 24, 2025, during the \u201c2025 Beijing Cultural Forum\u201d hosted by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the People\u2019s Government of Beijing Municipality, and others, a \u201cCopyright Salon\u201d was held at the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication. At the invitation of the Beijing Publishing and Copyright Association, CODA\u2019s Representative Director, Takero Goto, joined as a panelist in the discussion.
The salon, jointly organized by the Beijing Publishing and Copyright Association and the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, was held under the theme \u201cA New Copyright Ecosystem Driven by Technological Innovation.\u201d<\/em> It gathered distinguished experts from various fields to share insights on the current state and challenges of the copyright industry, and to discuss approaches to development and protection, with the aim of promoting the advancement of the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The salon opened with addresses by Mr. Wang Zhicheng, Director General of the Copyright Administration of NCAC, and Ms. Liu Hua, Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Office in China.
Takero Goto, Representative Director of CODA, took part in the panel discussion on \u201cNew Frameworks for Audiovisual Copyright Protection in the Digital Age.\u201d<\/em> He highlighted the increasingly complex and serious damage to Japanese content caused by piracy sites, driven by digitalization, networking, and the worldwide spread of high-performance devices. He also presented the outcomes and future challenges of the Cross-Border Enforcement Project (CBEP), which CODA has been implementing with the support of Japan\u2019s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) since 2021. In addition, he expressed gratitude for the understanding and efforts of Chinese government organizations in protecting Japanese content, and called for further strengthening of collaboration with Chinese content companies.<\/p>\n\n\n

The salon served as an opportunity to showcase the vitality and potential of copyright industry development in China, and as a valuable forum to deepen cooperation among participating organizations, companies, and across countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
