“JENESYS 2022” is an exchange program promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) to promote understanding of Japan and expand the diplomatic infrastructure of the region by inviting and dispatching personnel who will be responsible for its future. The Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) and Nonprofit Organization MIS(Multilateral Interaction with Students)cooperate in the planning and operation of the program. This time, 106 students from the above countries gathered from February 22 to 28 for a program in which they were divided into five subcommittees (tourism, internet, agriculture, labor, and urban development) to discuss and formulate concrete action plans aimed at solving issues in each country through lectures, site visits, workshops, etc. by their experts.

At the request of JICE and MIS, CODA Director of Project Management Yuguchi participated on the 23rd to give a lecture by an expert on the current situation of piracy and other rights violations in the Internet age and the background of media changes in the digital society to 28 students who selected the Internet sectional meeting.

At the end of the lecture, students had a group discussion on the issue of piracy, literacy and social responsibility in the digital society.
“In my country, awareness of copyright infringement is low, so it is important to educate not only young people but also a wide range of people through education. “
” I think learning how to cite papers in college goes hand in hand with learning to value original sources and originals. “
“In some countries, official sites for enjoying content are not well developed, and I think this is the background for the easy choice to view pirated copies. “
“Government-level and high-level measures against piracy would also be effective. “
The students enthusiastically exchanged opinions, and it was a very valuable opportunity to gain information about the opinions and interests of students from different countries.
